Work Experience (WEX) Classes
Work Experience (WEX) classes at Alder Grove are offered in collaboration with College of the Redwoods. Students can earn CSU-transferable general elective units through CR’s Work Experience Education (WEE) program.
As a concurrent enrollment course, there are a few extra steps to enroll in Work Experience.
First-Time WEX or CR Students
- Apply to CR
- Complete and sign the Concurrent Enrollment Form
- Must be signed by both student and parent/guardian.
- If you have not received your CR ID#, leave that field blank.
- Students will receive this form by email.
- Complete and return the required contracts
- Attend check-in meetings
- Meet with your counselor or PACE Coach every two weeks.
- Turn in timesheets, pay stubs, and progress updates.
Returning WEX or CR Students
- No need to reapply to CR. You are already accepted.
- Complete and sign the Concurrent Enrollment Form
- Must be signed by both student and parent/guardian.
- Available via DocuSign upon request (email Jen Burtram).
- Complete and return the required contracts
- Attend check-in meetings
- Meet with your counselor or support specialist every two weeks.
- Turn in timesheets, pay stubs, and progress updates.
All WEX Students
- Inform your CT and Counselor right away if you want to earn college credit for working or volunteering.
- If you enroll late, confirm you can still meet the 60-hour minimum by semester’s end.
- Schedule regular check-ins with your support specialist.
- Learn on the job while working toward your learning objectives.
- Hold a paying job or volunteer role with at least 5 hours per week.
- Accept the Google Classroom invite.
- Upload copies of pay stubs or time sheets in the Classwork section on time.
- Review your Progress Report regularly to track hours and paperwork.
